Delete your Nygma account
Nygma (encrypted drive and chat, Android, iPhone and web) · developed by Genie9 LTD
You can delete your Nygma account yourself, at any time, from the app or the website. This page explains how, what is deleted and what is kept. To delete only some of your data, see Delete some data without deleting your account.

- App Store (iPhone, iPad): open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Nygma → Cancel Subscription. Or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

What is deleted, and when
Deletion starts as soon as you enter the code, normally finishes within minutes, and cannot be undone. We permanently delete:
- your account, profile, sign-in methods and settings, including two-step verification and duress protection settings;
- all your drives and every encrypted file, folder and thumbnail in them, including items in Trash, from our database and our file storage;
- every share link you created (the links stop working);
- your sign-in and drive unlock sessions, PIN unlock records and trusted devices;
- your subscription, invoice and payment-method records stored with us.
Your files are encrypted on your device with keys only you hold. We never had those keys, so once deleted the files cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
Nygma Chat is not linked to your account on our servers. Messages are end-to-end encrypted; our server deletes each message once your phone has received it, and anything undelivered, including attachments, expires after 30 days. Your chat history and the app's encrypted offline copies are stored on your phone: uninstall the app or clear its data to remove them.
What is kept, and for how long
- Payment records: Stripe (our card processor), Google Play and the App Store keep their own records of your payments, as tax and accounting rules require. They are not removed when you delete your Nygma account and are kept under the law and those companies' own policies.
- Logs: our servers record that the deletion took place (with your account ID and email address), along with routine server logs. These are kept only for the periods described in our privacy policy.
Anything else we are required to keep by law is kept as described in the privacy policy.
Delete some data without deleting your account
- Files and folders: in the app or on the web, open a drive, select files or folders and choose Delete. They move to that drive's Trash.
- Trash: items in Trash are deleted for good automatically after 30 days. To delete them sooner, open Trash and choose Delete forever for one item or Empty trash for all of them; they are then removed from our servers straight away.
- Share links: revoke a link under Shares and it stops working immediately.
- Whole drives: a drive can't yet be deleted on its own. Delete its files and folders and empty its Trash, or delete your account to remove all your drives.
- Chat: your chat history is stored on your phone; uninstall the app or clear its data to remove it.
